Postings gone wild

More wonderful old beads found their way to my house - good golly they are wonderful. I had a trunk show with Jeanne & everyone that saw the micro selection that I put out was impressed. I was nice to sell quite a few beads before I even sorted them. I've caught myself playing with them when I should be working on other things. If you are nice & ask, I might even give you a special preview...eventually these will get into either on Etsy or eBay.

I have been better about working on-line & my Etsy sales have picked up. I have gotten wonderful feedback & a lot of repeat sales. Several of my Etsy Supply Street Team (Team ESST) mates have added me as a favorite. I love looking at their shops as well. As I tell just about everyone I talk to - you can find the most interesting things on Etsy. I don't think that a lot of people think about going to ESST for supplies, but they should. The quality and prices are often remarkably better than what I see 'off-line'. If you are looking for supplies for your craft projects start by searching Team ESST.

OMG!! Where did October go?

How the heck is it November??

Well one thing is for sure I didn't get a lot done with my beads during the past month. Ebay changes made me stop & think about how I want to list on that site & where I want to list which beads. I have deleted some listings & recreated others... frankly, this is the part of selling on-line that I hate. I like playing with the beads. Taking the photos, coming up with descriptions, selling them and corresponding with the artists that buy vintage beads. My goal for November is to spend more time listing beads - I still have a ton of listings that I need to change on eBay, but more importantly I have some amazing beads that aren't doing anyone any good sitting in my office. Gotta get those listed. Hopefully at the end of November I will be able to look back with more pride in my accomplishments than I can for October.

Ahhh!! My "mom" activities are taking over my time. Band, scouts, school, puppy training, laundry and even groceries are calling my name way more than I remember in the past. I have been busy going through everything in my eBay store. I need to change every listing because of eBay rule changes, so while I do that I am cleaning everything up. Some listings are being moved to Etsy & others are getting price changes. I should have done this along time ago.

This is Etsy Supply Street Team's October Shopping Extravaganza Weekend. I am offering a 15% discount on all purchases from my Etsy shop through Monday. If you mention that you read this - I will also give you a 15% discount on anything in my eBay store. Be sure to let me know that you want the discount before you pay, so I can send you an invoice with the price adjustment.

Team ESST September Weekend Shopping Extravaganza

There are so many things to celebrate this Labor Day weekend, that I feel like it calls for a special celebration. If you are anything like me - your 21st birthday was the last one that you really looked forward to. For me that was so long ago I can barely remember.

In honor of 21st birthdays (and their anniversaries) I am offering 21% off all purchases made this weekend. Be sure to let me know when you are done shopping & I will send you a revised invoice. As always, I am more than glad to combine shipping between my Etsy shop & eBay store.

Be sure to check out the other great deals from members of the Etsy Supply Street Team. Go to http://teamesst.blogspot.com

Revisions & improvements

322 listings x 3 add-ins + any noticeable problems = 1 pooped Estian.

As you can see from the above equation, I updated all of my Etsy listings. Since the Etsy Supply Street Team added me to their team I had to add the Team ESST tag & photo to my listings. While I was doing that I decided to take Jeanne's advice and add a product code. I cleaned up any problems that jumped out at me. It feels good to have a couple of things to mark off my to do list.

I wonder if I will be able to get photos taken this week. This was another one of my goals. The problem with goals is life gets in the way. This time of year is always so busy, but what time of year isn't. Well maybe January & February. I don't know about where you live but January & February are trying months here in Ohio. They are often grey, grey & more grey. I love snow, but don't like slush. I much prefer this time of year, although my favorite season is fall. I love layering clothes. I like to layer & mix up jewelry too.

You can see all of my revisions by clicking Http://evarose1900.esty.com (which will take you to my Etsy shop).

Excited...

I get excited about thinking where my beads are from (as I like to say, most of them are from 'long ago & far away'). I totally love the process of finding NOS vintage beads. These are beads that have sat in warehouses for decades waiting for me to find them. I love people (especially older people) & I have met some of the most interesting people while buying and selling beads. I get excited from where my beads will go & what they will become. Every so often some one will show me some great piece that they have made with my beads & it makes me so happy. I've even bought finished pieces made from beads that I sold. I love the feeling of being able to point people in the direction of the supplies that I don't have but may know someone who does have. Basically, I like the feeling of helping people create little pieces of art.

First Post

Wow! Things are happening today!

A couple of days ago I sent a request to join Etsy's Supply Street Team knowing that there was a waiting list. This morning I got a nice message from the leader of that team, Carla (www.CarDonCreativeDesign.etsy.com), she loves my shop & put it at the top of the list. All I have to do is add the Team ESST to my listings. Of course, I have over 300 listings on Etsy, but it shouldn't take me too long.

I decided that since I was going to be editing my listings anyways, this would be a good time for me to start the blog that I have been thinking about for so long. Ta-da! Here it is! I'll add this site to my Etsy listings at the same time.

My bead goals for this week are to edit at least 75% of my Etsy listings, change my eBay promo box (since my 'dog days of summer sale' ends late tonight), take photos of the beads that I have already sorted & counted, and if at all possible list some of these 'new to shop/store' on either eBay or Etsy.

The challenge will be to find bead time this week - it is my son's last week of summer vacation. He still needs school clothes & some supplies and his birthday is on Friday. I need and want to spend some quality time with my kids before our insane fall schedule starts. Of course, my son doesn't think that uniform shopping qualifies as quality together time.
